JOHANNESBURG, SUN CITY
AND KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Johannesburg and Kruger National Park offer a truly unforgettable journey into the heart of Africa combining some of the best courses in Africa with extraordinary wildlife. From the vibrant energy of South Africa’s largest city to the untamed beauty of the bushveld, this is a golf experience unlike any other.
As the economic and cultural hub of South Africa, Johannesburg provides a lively introduction to the country and is home to several of its most historic and prestigious golf courses. Glendower and Royal Johannesburg deliver excellent championship tests with classic hospitality whilst Blair Atholl Estate offers a spectacular modern test along the Crocodile River.
A few hours north of the city, you will find the Sun City Resort on the outskirts of Pilanesberg National Park, boasting two golf courses including Gary Player Country Club, host course of Africa’s Major the Nedbank Challenge. Heading east to Kruger National Park, you will find one of Africa’s best courses, Leopard Creek Country Club. Leopard Creek offers a truly unique round of golf, where sightings of elephants, antelope and other wildlife are almost as common as searching for golf balls in the rough.
Away from the fairways, the sense of adventure only grows. Game drives through Kruger National Park and Pilanesberg National Park provide unforgettable opportunities to encounter Africa’s iconic wildlife, while Johannesburg offers a fascinating cultural experience through its history, cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. Together, they create a true African adventure.

Another superb Gary Player design, Blair Atholl runs alongside the Crocodile River and stretches to more than 8,300 yards from the back tees, making it one of the longest courses in the world. Immaculate conditioning, standout par 3s and first-class facilities combine to create a memorable experience both on and off the course.

The East Course at Royal Johannesburg is one of South Africa’s most historic layouts. Shaped by C.H. Alison and Bob Grimsdell, it has been thoughtfully restored to recapture its classic character. A fine championship test awaits, complemented by excellent practice facilities, warm hospitality and one of the country’s best post-round dining experiences.

Set beside Kruger National Park, Leopard Creek is one of South Africa’s most memorable golfing experiences. Gary Player’s strategic design is presented in immaculate condition, while the clubhouse and facilities are equally impressive. With the sights and sounds of the bushveld all around, few rounds feel quite so atmospheric or unforgettable.

Home to “Africa’s Major,” the Nedbank Golf Challenge, Gary Player Country Club is the flagship course at Sun City. Set beside Pilanesberg National Park, it combines championship golf with the chance to spot Africa’s wildlife. The island-green par-5 9th is a standout, but the entire experience is unforgettable from start to finish.
